He was 15 when we dropped out of school to become a full time skateboarder.

In 1992, Koston moved to Los Angeles where Natas Kaupas got him into the 101 team. In 101, he established himself as a leading switch stance skateboarder. He was finally sponsored and became a pro-skater in 1993 when he joined the H-Street Team.
