eS The Muska Reissue 🤯

We're stoked to announce that the most demanded éS shoe of all time—the iconic éS Muska—is back for a limited time, dropping this fall. The Muska was first released in 1997 during Chad's short time riding for eS and has since become a staple of skateboard culture and streetwear history.

Few people have made such a huge impact in skateboarding as Chad Muska, AKA: “THE MUSKA”. Combining raw talent, personality and power, the Muska will fill every session with creativity and energy.

The Design

Muska and Franck Boistel designed the shoe to be bulletproof for serious street skating. The shoe features an upper that is part mesh that was inspired by the Jordan IV and highlighted by its iconic stash pocket on the tongue.

The infamous stash pocket is a four-and-a-quarter-inch-long compartment with a three-inch opening and a Velcro closure. This was the first shoe ever to offer a stash pocket. Don Brown, chief brand strategist for Sole Technology, recalls hearing that San Diego police had begun stopping skaters and searching their footwear. “They used to think that all skateboarders had stash pockets in their shoes, so they’d just be pulling people over, just checking their shoes,” he says. Schools were also rumoured to have warned teachers about the model and what students might be hiding in it.

Final Drop

The third and final colourway is in white action leather/mesh, and will be released this holiday season. This will be your last chance because when they sell out it could be another 20 plus years before eS decides to release them from the vault again. Hopefully not, but do you really want to take that chance?

In Canada the shoe will retail for $199 when it's released later this year. Did you know, back in 1997 this was the first skate shoe ever to have a three figure price tag at $100 US (which would run about $139 Canadian at the time). People thought it would flop at that price but the shoe actually sold out in a few days, leaving people scrambling to find a pair.
